Macy’s, Fifth Third Bank Spread Valentine Cheer to Nursing Home
COLUMBUS, Ohio – On February 13, 2006 representatives from the Macy’s Westland Mall brought cookies and punch, and goodie bags for the residents of Columbus West Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Representatives from the Fifth Third Bank at Eakin Road brought Valentine cards for the resident’s and cupcakes for the staff during a surprise visit on February 14, 2006.
The Center’s Activity Director, Beth Dickson had already planned some Valentine’s events. Mike Stanley, a local singer, provided a program of love songs. A resident’s family member baked cookies and Beth and her assistant Tammy Gussler hosted an afternoon tea party. The surprise visit from these two local companies made Valentine’s Day extra special for the residents this year. Beth Dickson, who is also the Volunteer Coordinator for Columbus West Park said that anytime a group from the community is interested in donating their time, talent or resources to benefit the residents please contact her.
