Columbus West Park Hosts Luncheon for new Director of the Ohio Department of Aging

COLUMBUS, Ohio - On December 15, 2005 Columbus West Park Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center was honored to host a luncheon for Merle Grace Kearns, the recently appointed Director of the Ohio Department of Aging. Tom Stewart, President/Owner of Columbus West Park, gave Director Kearns an introduction to the different programs that Columbus West Park offers. The facility offers Skilled and Rehabilitative Care, Alzheimer Care, Home Health Care and Adult Day Care Services. These programs are funded by the Ohio Medicaid System, PASSPORT, Senior Options and Caregiver Support Program which are monitored and coordinated by the Ohio Department of Aging. Director Kearns met briefly with Ms. Billie Tatman a resident and President of the Resident Council. Director Kearns toured the facility with Columbus West Park’s Administrator Sarah Mitchell. Following the tour Director Kearns participated in an awards ceremony in which Jackie St. John of Vista Care Hospice presented the Staff of Columbus West Park with its “2005 Outstanding Advocate Award” for their tireless efforts to ensure that all eligible patients receive the hospice benefits.

Columbus West Park is a family owned and operated health center located at 1700 Heinzerling Drive. The home health care and adult day care services are also available in a true home setting, located on the campus just around the corner from the nursing and rehabilitation center, at 2731 Clime Road.
